SPACE runs a successful ongoing internship scheme. Previous interns have gone on to employment with the TATE, London galleries, national arts organisations and permanent positions at SPACE. We provide hands on experience in the arts and the opportunity to gain valuable expertise that will prepare you for the challenges in the arts sector. Internships focus on specific projects tailored to the intern's experience and academic qualifications. The scheme is aimed at people with experience in the arts and pro-active team players. If you think you can commit to at least two days per week, we would like to hear from you. In return we offer a £10 travel allowance for each day's attendance. Applicants will be given appropriate training to assist them with their tasks, so while good IT skills are preferred, we will accept applications from those prepared to develop their skills in this area. In this internship you will work with the Emergent Technologies Producer on Jelly and the PermaCulutres programme. Jelly is an open casual co-working day every Thursday in SPACE media’s media Lab, PermaCultures is a series of residencies and workshops that question the relationship of art and technology to sustainability. The chosen candidate will gain key experience and understanding of media arts and creative technology sectors with enhanced contacts throughout the media industries.
The chosen candidate will have knowledge of the Media and web 2.0 technologies particularly in relation to Media arts. They will have the energy and enthusiasm for taking control of Jelly and for managing their time effectively.

Managed by the Development Manager, the Development Intern will undertake project planning, fundraising and partnership building activities helping to achieve the developmental and organizational goals of SPACE.
The Development intern will be tasked with assisting the art programming team with developing their projects, researching and collating potential donors, event management, manage a patron scheme, research funding bodies and sponsorship opportunities, undertake application processes, contact management, funding bid and sponsorship application writing and liaising with key stakeholders.
This position is key to our future sustainability and development, it offers a great opportunity for someone to prove their ability, make valuable contacts and develop their skills for a career in arts development or arts management. The ideal candidate will have excellent research and copy writing skills with an eye for detail, perseverance, excellent communication skills, be both a pro active team player and have good computer literacy.
