SPACE currently has two vacancies, Finance Director and Office Manager

Finance Director

SPACE is seeking to appoint a Finance Director.  S/he will be responsible for the financial operations of SPACE (Art Services Grants Limited), providing an effective financial management and reporting service to Trustees, managers and external stakeholders, implementing appropriate and effective financial systems, managing finance staff and working closely with non-finance managers and budget holders to empower and increase understanding and awareness of finance issues.

We are seeking a qualified accountant, with at least three years’ post-qualification experience, to take on this important role. You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of SORP and the Charities Act. A background in housing, the property or charity sectors would be a bonus. You will need a practical understanding of finance department processing procedures and systems, including payroll, strong communication skills, and diplomacy, combined with flexibility and a capacity to balance competing deadlines and a varied workload, and willingness to take a hands-on approach.

This is a full-time role, although applications for part-time working on 4 days a week may be considered.  

Salary: £40,000 p.a. (pro-rata if appropriate)

Office Manager

The Office Manager plays a pivotal role in the smooth running of the organisation.

S/he will provide administrative support to the Board of Trustees, CEO and Programme Managers. S/he will maintain the smooth running of the office and front of house. S/he will also be responsible for the maintenance of HR systems, cultural diversity monitoring and recruitment procedures.

This is a full-time role, suitable for an experienced administrator.

Salary: £23,819 p.a.
