Community Mapping: Sensing Pollution in London Fields
CommunityMapping 9 Nov 2005

Part of the Social Tapestries project, organized and produced by Proboscis

Do you live in, work near or use London Fields? Are you concerned about pollution in the local environment? Help us map and discuss how pollution affects the way we live, work and play by taking part in a Bodystorming workshop.

Bodystorming is a fun and tactile way of collecting stories, developing ideas and making connections. During the workshop, participants will explore and share the different kinds of pollution affecting local communities in the London Fields area.

Proboscis is exploring how we can develop playful uses of new technologies to empower and enable local people to map issues like the environmental pollution to understand and visualize its impact on the community.

In collaboration with Birbeck College and engineer Natalie Jeremijenko, Proboscis are investigating how low cost robots can be transformed and used to sense and map environmental pollution.
