About Our LCN Mentors

2016 – 2021

The London Creative Network at SPACE has four mentors that assist participants with their project development over the course of 6 months, by conducting tailored 1-2-1 sessions, focused guidance and referrals to enable artists to achieve their ambitions.

Levin Haegele consults artists on more technical topics such as: problem solving in artistic production, innovative technologies, specialist production methods, website optimisation, online platforms, and networks and networking.

Levin works as an artist and freelance production specialist. He has worked with numerous artists to realise projects such as computer-controlled interactive sculpture, photographic imaging, video and post-production and publishing. As an artist, he has exhibited internationally at galleries such as the Whitechapel, London, Mercer Union, Toronto, Truck, Calgary and Chelsea Space, London. Levin has been a lecturer at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of Brighton, Southampton Solent, and has given talks at the University of Calgary and the Ruskin. He currently teaches photography and video at the Art Academy. From material research to production techniques, Levin is well-versed in solving problems and understanding the needs of artists.

Kelly Lloyd is a multidisciplinary artist who focuses on issues of representation and knowledge production, and prioritises public-facing collaborative research. Kelly received a dual MFA in Painting & Drawing and an MA in Visual & Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2015, and is currently studying at The Ruskin School of Art for her DPhil in Fine Art. In 2019, Kelly held solo exhibitions at the Royal Academy Schools (London), Crybaby (Berlin), Bill’s Auto (Chicago), and Dirty House (London). She was the Starr Fellow at the Royal Academy Schools in 2018/19, and was recently awarded an Arts Council England Project Grant to produce the first season of a podcast featuring interviews with people in the arts about their livelihoods.

Lucy Rose Sollitt is a curator, writer and consultant. She focuses on the intersection of art and technology and possibilities for new artistic economies. Alongside being an LCN mentor, Lucy’s current work includes a new commission from the Goethe Institut London, and consulting on DACS’ innovation programme. She recently curated Redefining Value in the Art Market online commissions and talks programme and wrote the Future of the UK Art Market report, both were commissioned by Creative United with partners including UCL, DACS, Creative Scotland and Arteia. Lucy led research and strategy on art and innovation as part of a Culture is Digital paper for the UK government and led on Creative Media within the Arts Council England’s London office. She has curated projects and programmes for a range of organisations including FACT, Goethe Institut, York Mediale and Zien. Her writing includes Intersections, a series on trends in art/tech for British Council, and articles for Rhizome and AQNB. Lucy has devised programmes with Abandon Normal Devices, Innovate UK, Rhizome, Google, and Tate Modern. Lucy is part of various digital art networks across the UK and regularly participates in and convenes roundtables to inform research on emergent areas of practice, most recently for Serpentine Galleries’ forthcoming Future Art Ecosystems report.

A philosopher by training, all Lucy’s work is underpinned by philosophical exploration and belief in art as felt knowledge.
