Vancouver-based Damian Moppett is a self-described ‘studio-based’ artist, and is in residence at SPACE as part of the Canada Council for the Arts residency until March 2010.
SPACE has hosted the Canada Council for the Arts International Residency programme in London since 2003. It allows two Canadian artists a year full use of a SPACE studio and home for the duration of the six month period. Alongside SPACE the artist plans a programme of activities, talks, visits and social events providing valuable opportunities to meet London based artists and gallerists, helping them to promote and distribute their work internationally.
In 2007 SPACE hosted 3 Central Asian artists as part of the Central Asian Project, an exhibition and series of residencies produced in collaboration with Cornerhouse in Manchester and AsiaArt+ in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
