As part of V22’s Autumn programme of Werner Herzog screenings at a range of London venues including the Barbican and the Royal Festival Hall, SPACE hosts the inaugural event in the programme, showing Even Dwarfs Started Small.

The 1970 classic explores the bleak fallout of a rebellion and the resulting mayhem within an entire world inhabited by midgets.

A new platform which explored VHS culture. Artist Jamie Shovlin explored the 80s phenomenon of the 'video nasty' with talks and screenings.

Ice Harvest in Barking

Starting at The Lift on Abbey Green and ending at The Malthouse on Abbey Road

For LIFT Molten Festival a group of local residents have worked with performance artist Peter Reder to create a series of guided tours of Barking, combining historical facts with personal stories. You will be assigned a tour guide on arrival, and over the course of an hour, be introduced to the sights and sounds of their Barking. All tours finish at The Malthouse where you can find out how your version of history differs from others over tea and cake. The walking part of the tour lasts approximately 1 hour. All tours are suitable for wheelchair users.
