Participants walked people through their Hackney with photos, video and sound bytes from mobile phones and digital cameras. They created digital maps of street life with artist Douglas Nicholson. Maps were shown online as part of a European-wide project and at SPACE during April.
The Library of Performing Rights was launched to accompany Performing Rights, the 2006 Performance Studies international conference and performance festival.
SPACE Media Arts is supporting artist Christian Nold in a development of the Bio Mapping project. Funded by Sciart, research and development is taking place throughout 2006/7.
UKSOUNDTV.COM is a youth run broadband channel, broadcasting from Bow, East London. Focusing on UK underground music, emergent technology and local issues, UKS TV is the first broadband channel managed, produced, directed and crewed by a team of young people.
Channel 5.2 is a new educational and work based training programme run in partnership with Community College Hackney. It focuses on the development and production of a creative sector employment and advice network for London.
Trainees receive a flexible package of training and work experience based on their individual needs including 1:1 advice sessions, accredited Interactive Media training and opportunities to work with a team led by creative sector professionals.
