To view any of the studios listed in 'Vacant Studios' 'Sub-lets' and 'Shares' (see categories listed left) please call our office on 020 8525 4330 (during office hours) or send an email with the studio name and number that you are interested in. We will either direct you to the artist keyholder on site who can show you round or arrange a viewing day with a member of SPACE staff.
IMPORTANT: You must be registered in order to view a studio. (Except for Commissioning Studio which is for short term hire only). The studios listed under 'Vacant Studios' are also available to artists currently in a SPACE studio who wish to transfer. In these cases the SPACE studio artist will have priority over registered artists. The next priority will be the artist who has been registered the longest and whose work is most suitable for that particular studio. SPACE studios are best suited for fine artists, particularly painters. Some studios are not suitable for noisy or heavy work and may have limited access. Certain studios are available for designers and crafts people.
Rents shown include all costs except electricity/heating which are billed separately unless otherwise indicated.
SPACE reserves the right to disallow certain unsuitable practices in our studios. One third of our sites have studios with disabled access and adapted toilets. When studios with these facilities become available an artist with disabilities requiring these provisions will be given priority. All vacant studios can be taken for long or short term lets. Please note that owing to increased running costs for SPACE there is now a £50 administration fee for a studio tenancy (does not apply to shares or sub-lets or short-term hires). The tenancy agreement SPACE provides is excluded from the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 sections 24 to 28.
