Get involved: SPACE launches Kickstarter campaign to open affordable 3D fabrication lab
SPACE is looking to create a digital fabrication facility to support artists and designers with 3D Printing and Laser Cutting in the East End
What distinguishes the SPACE digital fabrication facility from other commercial entities is that it will be very affordable, with workshops, talks, and events associated with it that focus not only on the hows of digital manufacturing but also whys.
The Fab Lab will run on a membership scheme that will provide users access to the facilities and technical support. This scheme will be open to everyone who is interested in using the facilities.
In order for the Fab Lab to exist, SPACE needs support - with the Kickstarter campaign SPACE aims raise the funds necessary to get the facility up and running. This will include fitting out the space and getting in the kit.
SPACE thanks Ryan Gander for his support of the Fab Lab initiative - find out more about the 3d printed sculptures Gander has donated to the project (and how you can get your hands on one) here.
SPACE cannot do this without your support, so any amount of help will be appreciated.
