Paul Williams

Trustee

Appointed Dec 2010

Paul Williams is a director at Stanton Williams Architects. He is the first British design trained architect to be registered by ARB, having originally studied at Birmingham College of Art. He founded his partnership with Alan Stanton in 1985 which has won numerous architectural and design awards. Projects include the Compton Verney Art Gallery, University of the Arts at Kings Cross and the Wellcome Trust Millennium Building, West Sussex. They have recently completed the Hackney Marshes Community Hub and are presently working on Eton Manor for the Olympic Legacy. Paul is also a renowned exhibition designer and has worked on many major shows in galleries both the UK and abroad, including the Hayward, Tate Britain and RA. Paul is an active lecturer and educator in the UK, and in this role strongly advocates his belief in approaching design holistically. With extensive experience in contemporary visual arts, including elements of writing, curation and governance, and as a former Trustee of The Whitechapel Art Gallery, Williams offers a breath of skills which could contribute to the strategic development of SPACE.
