We support over 600 artists by providing affordable, quality space in which to work. This essential resource means artists can afford to pursue their practice.

Artists are at the heart of what we do. From providing studio space to work in and exhibition space to present in, to investing in emerging technologies and training, and promoting artist engagement with communities adjacent to our buildings - SPACE support artists to pursue their practice and for people to engage with their work.

With a specific focus on emerging artists, our arts programme provides unique platforms for artists to present work for audiences to engage with. We support and present a diverse range of contemporary art practices through exhibitions and events, screenings and talks, events and projects.

Through our Residency Programme we work with and support artists from as diverse and far away places as Brazil, France, Central Asia or Canada. Ranging from the short-term and site-specific to year-long award residencies this programme provides everything from accommodation and a studio to activities, talks, visits and social events helping artists to publicise and develop their work.
