Our Neighbours

SPACE works to ensure more people have the opportunity to take part and experience the arts.

The arts and creativity inspire and transform lives and are essential ingredients to a healthy and dynamic society.

SPACE promotes the idea of the artist as neighbour, we work with groups and organisations so that more people can access and use our resources and bring artists and local people together to collaborate in off-site, public projects. Often site-specific, these projects respond to the particular needs and contexts of participants.

All this work is carried out in partnership with schools, community groups, health agencies, housing associations and local authorities. We facilitate these joint projects through commissions, project management and support for artists who are interested in developing a socially engaged practice.
