Keep warm in your studio this winter
SPACE artists and our friends on Twitter have been sending us their top-tips for staving off the cold
From Tessa Brown:
Save your feet with super-warm socks. Made from an old camping mat and washing-machine-accident-felted -sweater plus 2 layers of wadding.
They are the toasty-toes business! And they double as a broom.
Architects Phineas Manasseh and Stephen Setford have installed their own insulation as follows:
-Put in a chipboard raised floor supported on cardboard tubes on end with 200mm Rockwool insulation (B+Q £3 per roll)
-Line the roof with 200mm Rockwool insulation (B+Q £3 per roll) supported by reinforced fire proof kraft paper and cardboard angles (normally used as protection corners in packaging).
They are also going to put polycarbonate (twin wall or triple wall) sheet against the north light and insulate the walls, too.
