Hackney Wick + Fish Island Art Camp 2012 Open Call
Artists are invited to submit proposals for selection to participate in the Hackney Wick + Fish Island Art Camp from May to mid September 2012.
The grant to each of the four commissioned artists is £4000.00 inclusive of all fees expenses and VAT.
The ambition of the Camp is for artists and children to work together and create a collaborative work that enables local children to experience the artists’ way of thinking and of making the most of available materials, spaces, places and experiences. The collaboration will encourage the children to imagine growing up to be the next generation of artists to inhabit the studios and work spaces in Hackney Wick and Fish Island. More details and how to apply here.
DEADLINE: 21st May 2012

RA Summer Exhibition 2012
Following long Academy tradition, the Summer Exhibition is selected and hung by an annually rotating committee of Royal Academicians, all of whom are practising artists and architects. Tess Jaray is this year’s Exhibition Co-ordinator: ‘In contrast to some of the very large works that are currently exhibited in museums worldwide, this year we shall be focusing upon, and celebrating, works of a more modest size.’ Working closely with the rest of the Committee, she will seek to select a diverse range of strong work to exhibit.
How to enter the Summer Exhibition 2012
An artist may submit a maximum of two works, for a handling charge of £25.00 per entry (which is non-refundable and includes VAT).
The completed Entry Form, together with photographs of sculpture*, must be returned to the Academy by close of business on Tuesday 13 March. Therefore the deadline for artists in the UK and the rest of Europe to purchase a form is 3.30pm on Friday 9 March. For artists living outside Europe the deadline is Monday 27 February. This earlier date allows sufficient time for the form to be despatched to the artist and returned to the Academy by Tuesday 13 March.
