What do you want from Hackney?

Hackney Council wants to get a better understanding of what the creative industries in the Borough need from them – more support? Less support? Better support....?

If you’re a creative living in Hackney, please fill in the on-line form (see information and link below). There are prizes for some respondents. Full details below:

Building Better Business - the 2010 Hackney Business Survey

With the 2012 Games less than two years away, Hackney is one of the most exciting places to do business in the UK and at the Council we are aware of the unique, vital contribution that artists and innovators bring to the cultural life of the borough and our city. We want to find ways of supporting artists and creative thinkers, to enable you to make the most of the opportunities that the Olympics bring and to ensure your creative business thrives, especially given the current state of the economy. By understanding your business needs and experiences of working an artist, we will be able to make the best decisions about how we shape and develop our local economy for the benefit of everyone. Please take a few minutes to tell us about you and your creative business in our online survey and help us make the right decisions as we move towards 2012 and beyond. By completing our survey, three lucky people will win an eighth-page size advert, worth £320 each, in Hackney Today, the Council's newspaper which reaches 108,000 homes and businesses across the borough. Prizes also include Love 2 Shop vouchers ranging in value from £25 up to £250. These can be used at participating stores from Ryman Stationery to Carphone Warehouse, Argos and Marks and Spencer.

If you don't have internet access or you prefer to do things using pen and paper, please call us on 020 8356 7529 and we will send you a hard copy with a Freepost envelope.

If you would like to discuss further, please email: rob.francis@hackney.gov.uk or call: 020 8356 7529.
