Silicon Hackney - FOOD THAT STARTS ONLINE
This Silicon Hackney is part of Digital Shoreditch, so to make it even more special than usual we're holding it at The White Building, our brand new art, technology and sustainability focused creative venue in Hackney Wick, by the Olympic Park.
The meetup will focus on how the sale, supply, production and review of food is being influenced by the digital technology.
From Tesco's saying that profits are down due in part on the rise of apps and online shopping, to the power of food bloggers to influence the success of eateries, we will be taking a look at how digital media can shape and inform the wider knowledge, perceptions and notably the promotion of all things culinary and gastronomic.
Many Hackney businesses are taking the lead in showing us what online can mean for the support of the local, the bespoke and those operating on a small scale.
We will have short presentations from businesses and others in Hackney using the Internet to promote their ethos, ideas, and services, a space for an open mic to share what you are up to and of course, food and drink.
Beer will kindly be provided by the London Fields Brewery.
